(1) Follow Your Heart, Dreams & Passions: Life is too short to do anything except exactly what you really, truly love to do. That’s what you will always be the very best at and most successful doing!

(2) Promote Your BENEFITS, Clearly, Comfortably and Concisely: Don’t talk about FEATURES, nobody cares! Talk about how your product or service will make people’s live better, easier, more fulfilling, safer, more secure and fun! Say it in very “Down To Earth,” easy to understand statements that are direct and easy to comprehend and believe!

(3) To Thyne Own Self Be True: Never even waste a single moment of your time even considering selling or promoting something that isn’t 100% completely up to your highest standards of quality, ethics, morals and principals! If YOU wouldn’t buy it, then DON’T sell or promote it!

(4) Role Play: Every week go through your entire website thinking from the perspective of a potential client and make careful notes of what you experience. Ask a few friends to do the exact same thing for you. What improvements did you discover need to be made? Make them!

(5) No One Can Be ALL Things To ALL People: You will be a lot more successful and a lot happier of a person if you focus strictly on the things that are your natural strengths, gifts, interests, pleasures and joys! Would you go eat a fancy, gourmet steak dinner served at a Contractor’s Warehouse? Do you want your Doctor or Lawyer to be the same guy who exterminates bugs or repairs bicycles? No, you wouldn’t trust someone trying to be all things to all people. Neither will your customers!

(6) Be A Student Of Business / Marketing / Promotions: Consistently keep up with what is going on, not just in your particular niche industry, but in the world business environment in general. Enthusiastically study those successful people who have gone before you. You don’t have to re-create the wheel!

(7) Simply Help People – Don’t SELL Them: Do YOU like to be SOLD? No, you don’t, so don’t do it to others! Do you like to be HELPED? Yes, you do; so do that instead. People can sense when someone is sincerely offering to help them and when someone is merely trying to sell them. Make friends and long term customers, not angry enemies!

(8) Focus ALL of your time, energy & effort on what you do BEST and LOVE most: Then get someone else to do all the other stuff. There actually are people out there who truly enjoy and are amazingly great at doing all the things you don’t like or can’t do so well yourself. What does that tell you?

(9) Never Stop Advertising / Promoting Your Business: Don’t be sucked into making the silly mistake that many business people make when they start making some really good money. Don’t stop promoting & advertising your business. Let me ask you this? Would you consider companies like McDonald’s, Ford, Coca Cola, J.C. Penney and Budweiser successful? Do they still keep on advertising and promoting or do they sit back and rest on their laurels from yesterday?

(10) Follow-Up Makes Friends For Life: Most people sale to their customers as if it’s a “One Night Stand!” They get cash in hand and run for the hills never to be heard from again. That’s wrong. Contact your customers to check on them and see how their doing. You’ll be amazed at how many “Back-End” sales and referrals you’ll get from a life-time customer!
